SOUTH ISRAEL ON HIGH ALERT FOR TERRORISM ATTACKSTuesday, December 18, 2007 A Kassam is being fired from Gaza Strip towards Israel on Tuesday December 18, 2007. Magen David Adom has raised their alertness level to emergency status B - just one level below its highest state of alert due to Tuesday's Qassam and mortar shells barrage in the western Negev. Following the IDF operations, Islamic Jihad spokesman in the Gaza Strip Abu Hamza hinted that his organization would carry out suicide attacks in Jewish towns in the Gaza periphery in retaliation. Earlier, in an e-mail sent to reporters, Islamic Jihad said it would retaliate for its losses with suicide attacks inside Israel, threatening "a wave of martyrdom operations."
