CONTROVERSIAL JERUSALEM GAY PRIDE EVENT GOES AHEAD

A proud territorial Israeli soldier arrives to the gay pride event in Jerusalem on Friday November 10, 2006. The Gay pride event in Jerusalem concluded without any major incidents, following weeks of protests and threats of violence that left Israel\'s capital city at the precipice of full-blown riots and bloodshed, the event came to a relatively quiet end leaving police and Jerusalem\'s residents breathing a collective sigh of relief. The crowd was estimated to include some 2,000 attendees. Photo by Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye.
