Sderot residents are shopping at Sderot Market

Sderot residents are shopping at Sderot Market on Tuesday 20 June 2006. Over the past few years the increasing Kassam rocket attacks on Sderot have caused the already existing poverty, high unemployment rate and low standards of living to increase. Over the past few weeks the Kassam Strikes have caused many residents to move out of the city. Now, Eli Moyal, the mayor of Sderot, has declared a general strike in his town for 24 hrs with the educational year closing early in protest of continuing Qassam rocket attacks by Palestinians and due to lack of protection for the city.
