Picture of Generali Building Jerusalem Israel

The distinctive feature of this building is the winged lion on the roof, which was sculpted from a number of stone blocks. The lion is the symbol of St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. The building, which combines classical elements with the principles of the Bauhaus style, was constructed in 1934-35 for the offices of the Italian Generali insurance company.Photo By Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye.
