Aix en Provence-Town of Water and Art

Aix or Aix-en-Provence is a city in southern France, some 30 km north of Marseille. It is located in the Provence region and its inhabitants are called Aixois .Aix (Aquae/ Aqua) was founded in 123 BC by the Roman consul Sextius Calvinus, who gave his name to its springs. Aix-en-Provence is town of water, town of art and it is known that Aix was built and has developed around this dual identity. The town also knows how to blend different eras and cultures. Open to the world, it is a city of human dimension where the preserved heritage and the city of tomorrow blend perfectly. Colors and sensation: the light of the sky, the golden stone of the facades, the transparent green of the fountains, and the shade of the plane make this unique place a great travel destination for tourists from all over the world.
